Tsuwano is a must-see on any vacation in the Iwami region in Japan. This 'little Kyoto' of Shimane is bursting with shrines, and temples, traditional houses, museums, art galleries, and plenty of nice cafes and inns.

3 minutes on foot from JR Tsuwano station is a nice little Italian restaurant, Pinorosso. which also sells cake and serves dessert.

You can enjoy lunch time or a coffee here. There is pasta, pizza, homemade bread, and cake. Pinorosso is really popular in Tsuwano so it is often crowded at the weekend. Their original menu uses local produce.
