Youkiya
Youkiya（ようきや）is a restaurant that sells Okonomiyaki, a Japanese savoury pancake with egg, pork, noodles and whole choice of toppings. You can find it on the corner of Gintengai(銀天街), the main street in front of Hamada station and takes about 5minutes on foot the station.
Okonomiyaki is popular dish. cooked on a large heated counter. There are 2 types of Okonimiyaki; Kansai style and Hiroshima style. Youkiya mainly serve the Hiroshima style with noodles, but it also serves Hamada style! Hamadayaki(Look for 浜田焼きon the menu) is the specialty in this restaurant. The noodles are fried until crispy. So, you can enjoy chewiness. And you can order many kinds of toppings, green onion, cheese, natto and so on.
The chef in this restaurant trained in Hiroshima, infamous birthplace of Okonomiyaki. And if you are a student, you can get a discount and one topping for free. Please show your student identification at the register.
Don’t have time to eat at the restaurant? You can choose to take out or get delivery survive. In that case, you have to order it in Japanese.
