Grand Toit
Grand Toit is an arts center in Shimane. Both the roof and outer walls of Grand Toit use roof tiles called Sekishu-gawara, a traditional reddish-brown tile of Iwami . Grand Toit's architecture is very striking, featuring a large central courtyard with a shallow pool filling most of it.
Shimane Prefecture Iwami Arts Museum and the Shimane Prefecture Iwami Arts Theater are in Grand Toit. The Arts Museum focuses on items connected with Mori Ogai, a famous local novelist, Fashion and Arts from around Iwami. The museum has four galleries. In the arts theater, you can see concerts and shows. Masuda marionettes regularly perform here.
