Iwami Ginzan museum
Iwami Ginzan is a historic silver mine in the mountains of Shimane, Japan. The preservation and revitalization of Iwami Ginzan's historic sites began over 50 years ago. The area was designated a World Heritage Site in 2007.
In Iwami Ginzan museum, you can experience the life of old days through Virtual Reality and see diplays about the history of the town and silver-mining in Japan. There are lots of English explanations, and subtitles on most of the videos so it's a great introduction to the area, even if you don't read Japanese.
