Shimane Aquarium AQUAS is a popular marine attraction located in Hamada City, Shimane prefecture, Japan. You can see the diverse marine life. You can also watch shows performed by marine animals such as dolphins and sea lion. AQUAS offers an exciting experience for all visitors. Personally, I thought the penguins were the cutest. Penguins do not have teeth, so they swallow fish without chewing. Penguins always eat fish from the head first. It is said that if they eat from the tail, they can't swallow it properly.

Beluga whales, famous for their bubble ring performance, are popular creatures in AQUAS. AQUAS is the only facility in western Japan where visitors can see beluga. Beluga are born with grey skin, but as they grow, their skin gradually turns white. Amazingly, these beluga whales come from the Arctic. It is said that happiness will come to anyone who sees the bubble ring. If you visit AQUAS, don't miss the chance to watch the bubble ring.

You can walk through a large tunnel in the aquarium. There are sharks, rays, and a giant turtle in the tunnel aquarium, so please take a closer look.

Located near beautiful sea in Hamada, AQUAS is the best place to enjoy both marine life and beautiful sea view. It is also a perfect place for a date spot. If you visit Shimane, please go to AQUAS and enjoy ocean life!!
